Case study

Sherry is a single parent with 3 young children. She claims income support and used to receive £59.15 a week. However, she was recently told this would be reduced to just £36.00 per week. Sherry booked an appointment at Grants. We contacted her local Jobcentre office, discovered the reason for the reduction and argued that it was illegal. Subsequently Sherry's income support claim was raised to the original rate of £59.15 per week and she received a cheque for all the payments she'd missed out on.
